I can't quite read the road name, not sure if it's Merton Road or Balliol Road where it crosses Stanley Road.

From Wikipedia (not memory) - Seaforth joined Crosby Municipal Borough in 1937, having previously been part of Waterloo with Seaforth urban district. The whole of Crosby became part of the new Metropolitan Borough of Sefton on 1 April 1974.

From 1918 to 1950 Seaforth was within the Parliamentary constituency known as Waterloo, a safe seat for the Conservative Party, and then until 2010 within the Crosby constituency, whose MP from 1997 to 2010 was Claire Curtis-Thomas, of the Labour Party. Prior to her election the Crosby seat was generally considered a Conservative Party stronghold, like its predecessor seat, with Tory MPs elected at every election, except for the 1981 Crosby by-election, when Shirley Williams of the Social Democratic Party was elected. As a result of boundary revisions for the 2010 general election, the Crosby constituency was abolished and Seaforth was included in the expanded Bootle constituency, represented by the Labour MP Joe Benton.

For elections to Sefton Council, Seaforth is within the Church electoral ward and is represented by three councillors, all members of the Labour Party.

These are all fabulous! Do you own these yourself....would I be allowed to use them for a school's history website about local sefton history do you think?
It would be great if I could,
Thanks for posting them anyway, I'm learning a lot! x

Dot,
have a few old pics of 47 Linacre Lane, my grandpa's dairy, shop and home, which was lost May 1941. They may already be on here - I will check. You are more than welcome to use them as you wish.

Dot, that pic looks to have been taken from inside Bowerdale Park which is opposite the section of Seaforth Rd with Lime Grove, Hawarden Grove and Seaforth Vale running off it. I’m pretty sure that most of the properties pictured have now been rebuilt.

When was that demolished? I'm pretty sure I spent many times getting pretty wasted in the "Lithy" as a teenager.

Tom, sometime in the 80s I think, it was renamed the "Priory"
Demolished about 10 years ago and now has flats built on the site.

It was still there when I left in 97 for Cumbria, couldn't believe it when I visited last to find Secrets gone and the The White House was a KFC!
