Ha Ha.....great photo Bob........;
That's taken in Bootle Cricket Club's scoreboard back in June 1996 during the "Euro 96" Football tournament & was even featured in The Bootle Times.(!!)
I've got great friends in the Czech Republic & (4) of them came over for the Czech Rep' 2 v Italy 1, game at Anfield on June 14th 1996.
It was a stunning victory for the Czechs over Italy that night & Boy did we Party....!!
That's me with one of the Czech guys in the scoreboard.......hence Czech Republic scarf.
We cobbled a friendly cricket match up on the following Sunday at Bootle CC with my mates at the cricket club & the Czechs, even "Two's a Crowd" (Phil Jones & Alex McKechnie) played adding a touch of "Show Biz" to the proceedings.
We then adjourned to "The Old Bill" pub in Westminister Rd to watch their gig & drank copious amounts of amber nectar whilst back slapping each other & commenting about how wonderful everything is....blah blah.....you get my drift.
The 'Bootle Times' covered the game & published a report (can't find it...drat)......it must have been a 'No news' week (!).
Happy Daze......whee did they go !?.
Sorry to go "off thread" a tad........& "Yes", I played in the JOC for Bootle YMCA & love all the clips, anecdotes, photos etc on this thread......keep it up.
Cheers.

From the Bootle FC site.
FRANK DORAN SENIOR 1936-2021
BY BOOTLE FOOTBALL CLUB
Bootle Football Club, and indeed the Football community lost a legend today as Mr Frank Doran Senior passed away earlier this morning.
Anyone involved with football both locally and across the Northwest will know Frank, or Mr Bootle as his was affectionately known, for his booming voice, quick wit and his extensive knowledge and love of football.
Frank was a Docker, but more importantly for him, a footballer who was part of the 1954 Langton FC team that became the latest incarnation of Bootle FC.
It was Frank who drove the club forward, as player, manager, secretary, chairman, groundsman - you name it - and latterly president of the club.
He would be seen every day up at both Bucks Park, on Copy Lane, and more recently at Vesty Road doing one job or another at the club, and that continued right up until December when the latest lockdown happened.
Frank’s memory will last forever in the town of Bootle, and in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He is survived through his fantastic family and through the club who will strive to meet his dreams.
We are all devastated.
Rest in peace Frank
