Remind me Dan, where was Brookvale. I played there several times but forget the location.
We also played on a pitch that was overlooked by the prison, what was that called?
Cheers

Great stuff Dan,
I'd be interested in anything you could find on FORD ATHLETIC which was based in Cooksons.
Figure late 50s/ early 60s.
There is a photo on here somewhere, they were a good side, sometime run by my Dad.
Thanks
Ken

Bob posted a photo of Ford Athletic twice. This one on tinypic and one on imageshack in 2014.

Both have been lost. If anyone has a copy could you post it again.

Thanks Dan,
I remember many of those Ford Athletic names and the Cup win.
The J. Edwards ( Secretary ) was my Dad , he actually , managed, coached, organised, ran on with the cold sponge and provided Oxo at half time, meanwhile Mum washed the kit in the Dolly Tub.
The death of Billy Hodges devastated the team, he was an outstanding player and very popular man.

Found this photo on the entertainments page of the Bootle Times, November 26 1954.

Chadburns were very late entrants in Division 1 for the 1954/55 season.

Image

Other players involved; Harold Westhead (GK). Donald Courtney. Tommy Done.

They only played this one season in the JOC, during this period.

Final Table 1954/55.
