Dan - the photograph of the carter on Hornby Dock would seem to be my Grandad. I was blown away to see this shot as I only have one picture of him. He died in 1976.
Any idea what year that would have been? And the source of the image please?
Many thanks for posting - I live in Kuala Lumpur and has not expected my Pop to appear right in front of me.

Liverpool certainly has changed since i worked on the docks there was oranges floating in the Albert dock area and dockers with dockers hooks looks dead posh today very nice expat davey

Don't allow dockers' hooks in the Albert Dock now, Davey.
If you do get there, best wear a top hat and tails. Oh, and a monocle, just to be on the safe side.

Hard to believe they let the Liver Buildings get that bad, I can only think that the cash was not available to do anything about it. Pleased it is great nowdays! Thanks Dan for all your photos etc.

working with a scotts derrik getting dark thru a file at a rat finished got the day(night) cum in next day there is a dead rat with a file straight thru it wot a shot
