Here is a photo of a West Derby Football team featuring a local lad who represented Stoke City and England.
He was a mate of my father (born 1908) and he lived in Fish Terrace opposite the village hall. The first Asian to play for the country. Soo second from left middle row.
Frank Soo played locally, for Prescot Cables, before joining Stoke City
A book about Frank Soo was published recently called 'The Wanderer' by susan Gardiner. Frank played alongside Stanley Matthews for Stoke and England

That's the Shakey Vets team from about 6 years ago Bob. All credit to all these lads who want to carry on playing football.

St Joan's 1959 after winning the Griffin Cup my dad bottom right Alan Parry
Is that Alan McCulloch 4th from left back row
Also is that Eddie in this picture if so he will give us more names call this picture 22

What times it was me has a young lad watching them great players in the JOC will never forget them days .
Well, l reflect back on my first post in the JOC it was great days playing and the social life we all had, think l will never forget
I have got and met so many people and pictures from this site and the memories
