Cheers Davey, you're right it was St Marys Cemetery. This is an old photo of St Mary's church.

This picture has been on before LOOOONG time ago However when I was boy working at Johnsons on this corner it was "Liverpool Cables further along on right it was "Mersey Cables" on the left side of Linacre Lane stood "WA Gale" building contractors, of a morning there was a newspaper seller and He would come to you with your paper and save you getting off your bike, Corpy buses 61 and 62 would have to stop at the lights full of dockers going to work and they would be jeering at every one in jest -then the race was on to beat the bus down to Stanley Rd , That was 1949 to 1951 Great memories

Hiya Bob.
I remember going into a building looking just like that. It was a nightclub in the sixties called the Knights of St Columbus.

The photo of Hawthorne Rd. I remember it looking very similar in the 50/ 60s . Irwins on the right corner and the chip shop next door. Is the road crossing it called Waterworks st?
The gas light (bottom right) was still there as , I believe, it was to vent the sewer. Not sure about that, but it was bigger than the other lights. Thanks for the photo Bob.
