I have been in Ozz since 1967 makes me smile at some of the nicknames we had Grainy/elly corky bombdies house of lords were we got that name from dont know it was a bombed whareouse on derby road

that was the raller bridge went under Stafford st which went from marsh lane to brook road etc the kids dared MATTY to jump with a umbrella poor lad wasn't a full two bob and broke both legs in Bootle hospital for ages all the kids did a runner had been the palace marsh lane cinema watching Charlie Chaplin do the umbrella stunt

I've been editing rather than posting.
I posted some photos from "The Miller's Tale" in the Bibby post on page 3 of the Local Companies thread last month.
It was an amazing set of buildings to work in.
I posted a couple of photos of the Algeciras on the dockers thread last week.It was its first UK call at the London Gateway.
The docks/companies threads have been getting , in total, about a thousand hits a week for the past 12 months.
They'll be coming mainly from web browsers, which was what I always wanted.

I remember Matty Brady very well I went to school with Davy Brady there was two sisters Winnie and Betty they lived in spencer street Marsh lane brook road an Chestnut grove some people say matty was a soft lad no he was,nt he always worked an would give you the shirt off his back he was a good skin R.I..P Matty

Pretty sure the little boy John in the pic with the puppet grew up to be the local professional comedian John Martin. Think his dad George was in the ambulance service.

I remember our tommy (Tommy Rowlands) wheeling a barra seven floors up (Marsh Lane flats) someone moved a plank bang he was in ozzie for a while it was in the echo an the B,T early sixties not a nice time for the rowlands family he got a pay out and went to N.Z.19 63/64/ Davey

been in Bootle ossie a few times fell on the Hearth skin grafts fellin the boiling water(sock still on) dropped the kettle (cast iron )other foot stiches stichers I havea scare on me forhead like railway tracks I look back an I must have been a bugger good old days
